International buying... is it safe?

ebay US has lots of nice items.. especially tf.. and cheaper too if we convert to RM ... but how safe it is ... even the shipping is quite expensive, sometimes more expensive than the item itself..

after reading the sales they have at BigBadToyStore (BBTS) .. it's like, why toyshops in malaysia dont do that kind of sale... or maybe it's hard to have one...

a question..
Does Steve from Toywiz orders toys from BBTS?

if he does.. then we can at least ask him to order for us.. right? with the least amount as we can say, Steve order a huge stock of toys.. we just share the shipping maybe 2-3% .. like now, the shipping to malaysia for BBTS is usd34 .. about rm110+ ... if we ask Steve if he allow us to combine shipping with his ordered stocks, we can save a few ringgits..

It defeats the purpose of Steve opening a shop in the first place... the idea of owning a business is to earn hahaha. Being affiliated to us and giving discounts is one thing... but doing something that doesn't bring in any money for him would be futile. Especially when he is most likely to sell those stuff himself, that would be like slapping himself on the face LOL. If he were to do this he would also be offending the local suppliers. if anything goes wrong between him and BBTS... the local distributors will no longer layan him... it is far more complicated than it seems.

Guys... gotta think about Steve's situation and his rice bowl as well.. not just our gains :)

orestes, if we do the calculation buying international only is positive only if ur buying in volume (that if can get single delivery charges for multiple order) or the item can get here in M'sia at all... than can buy oversea.

coz the delivery is already RM100+ meaning for every TF we bought need to add RM100...so expensive also lor..

it's that just, you would do anything to get something in anyway possible benefit ourself right.... if Steve has no problem with this, it sure help us alot to get item from international distributor... but like you said N_M, it's like you're a magician and you're telling people your magic trick... it's a dishonor to all other magicians everywhere else too.. sighhh...

Ala... we must support our local distributors n toy shops as toy collectors ma.. if we all look for cheap stuff online in the US... then KL toy shops all close down liao :)

Be happy that collectors nowadays are getting stuff damn easy now.. 10 yrs ago.. getting certan items would mean having to go to HK or Japan to get it ourselves... nowadays ppl like steve can bring in exclusives for us from both US n japan.. count our blessings dude :)
